SweepCAD is offered free of charge. It is a young tool that changes almost every day, and it is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied — including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. You decide whether and how to use what it produces.

A testing period

SweepCAD is in its testing period. Features come, change and go, things can break, and the service can be slow or offline. Nothing about it is final yet.

Check every critical value

SweepCAD’s standards tables are close to the standards they name, not copies of them. Dimensions, tolerances, fits, materials, weights and bolt sets proposed by SweepCAD must be checked against the official standard and by a qualified person before anything is manufactured, sold or put into use. SweepCAD is not intended for safety-critical design without independent verification.

Built on open-source kernels

SweepCAD builds its geometry with the open-source kernels Manifold (live, in your browser) and OpenCASCADE (exact STEP files and STEP import). Their results can differ in small ways, and neither is a guarantee that a part can be made.

AI during the testing period

Speech recognition runs on open models (Parakeet) on SweepCAD’s own server, or on your own computer if you run SweepCAD there.

The AI features — AI design, “Make it 3D” and “Make it Real” — are optional. During the testing period I experiment with both commercial AI models and AI models that can be deployed locally, and I may switch between them at any time to test both. There is no guarantee that local models will be used or offered. You may be asked to enter your own OpenRouter API key to use the AI features; your requests then run under your own OpenRouter account and its terms.

AI output can be wrong, incomplete or unsafe. You are the last check.

Your files

You are responsible for keeping copies of your work. Exports (STEP, STL, CAD kits) may differ from what you see on screen. On the hosted SweepCAD, parts you save, files you import and reports you send are kept on a server shared by the testers, so other testers can see them. Don’t save, import or report anything confidential there.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by Danish law, 3Dio ApS is not liable for any direct or indirect loss, damage or cost arising from the use of, or inability to use, SweepCAD — including lost profits, lost data, production stops or damage to property or persons. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited under Danish law, such as liability for intent or gross negligence.
